WEK offers accommodation and holds confidential conversations with families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Housing is provided on a short to medium term basis with timeframes that reflect the needs of each individual situation. Over this time, a Case Worker will provide support to address barriers to sustaining housing and assistance to secure long-term housing.
Additional help can be provided to help people get a new tenancy or to keep an existing one. If you are homeless or are worried that you may become homeless, please contact us on 0478 768 273.
When accommodation is found, tenancy agreements will be entered into, including details of board payments if applicable, responsibilities of WEK and tenants, duration of the tenancy, in line with Qld legislation, and WEK policies and procedures.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
Wek Services assists our clients and their families with Specialised Disability Accommodation, by assessing the environmental needs and preferences of the client, including safety, mobility, privacy, and dignity, and by providing additional resources that may assist the client in-home modifications and in care support.
Wek Services will enter a service agreement with the client/representative, after ensuring that relevant information and options are understood, informed choices are made by the client, and will do its utmost to manage changes, behaviors, potential conflicts, as well as to ensure client’s security of tenure and continuity of support. WEK will facilitate the integration of other service providers to ensure the most suitable person/services provides the best assistance available.
